Fall Fitness

There is something about the cool, crisp air that can breathe some new life into your usual routine, especially when it comes to exercise. Fall season is a great time to change up your workout routine. The cooler temperatures make it ideal for taking your work-out outside and trying something new.

Walking: Walking is just about the easiest way to exercise outside and a great way to get in some extra movement throughout the day. With cooler weather, you don’t have to worry about sweating as much, so that may make it easier to stay active. All you really need is a good pair of walking shoes and, perhaps, some fall weather gear to keep you warm, dry and protected.

Hiking: Fall is a great time to go hiking. Cool weather, no bugs and, of course, magnificent views. Plus, hiking burns mega-calories as you increase your elevation and really works those legs. Hiking lets you get back to nature and clears your head at the same time.

Go Heavier with Weights: If you want to make your fall outs feel more intense, grab for heavier dumbbells and get back to work. You won’t be able to do as many reps, but that’s fine. You will be gaining muscle by giving yourself something harder to do.

New Workout Buddy: This will be especially helpful if you work out alone since there are so many benefits to exercising with a friend. It makes you more accountable, if you know your friend is waiting for you on that hike, you will go! Working out with a friend will keep you motivated.

Visit an orchard or pumpkin patch
Really soak up the fresh air by visiting a local orchard or pumpkin patch and picking some of your own fruits and veggies. Later, turn them into some healthy treat!
